The flexible screw conveyor, also know as a spiral, screw or centreless auger conveyor, consists of a spring steel flexible screw that is enclosed in a flexible
or rigid plastic tube, or a rigid steel tube and driven by an electric motor normally located at the discharge end of the conveyor. This simple design delivers efficient performance and high reliability while reducing maintenance and cost for distances of 1mtr to 100 mtrs.
When properly engineered according to the specific characteristics of the material being conveyed a flexible screw auger is capable of conveying a large range of products and bulk solid materials.
1.52″ Flex Auger
2.38″ Flex Auger
2.71″ Flex Auger
Used to convey dry ground feed and crumble type mash – maximum moisture content 18%. Maximum particle size 1/8″ diameter x 1/2″ long. System is not recommended for large pellets or shelled corn.
PVC tubes are 2.25″ (55mm) outside diameter; flexible auger is 1.52″ (38mm) outside diameter.
Approximate feed delivery rate is 15 lbs. (6.8kg) per minute or 900 lbs. (408kg) per hour based on 40 lbs./cubic foot feed density and 358 rpm drive unit.
